This hotel is probably one of the most stylish places I’ve ever stayed. Every corner is thoughtfully decorated with modern art and minimalist furniture. The room felt like a little design studio — bright, clean, and smartly laid out. The bathroom had heated floors and a rainfall shower, which I really appreciated after walking around all day. They also had a nice co-working area in the lobby with great coffee. I felt inspired just staying there.

Stayed here with my boyfriend for the weekend I was a little worried because of the reviews but staff & room were good! Rooms were super clean. Housekeepers greeted me every time I stepped out of the room. Niki in the morning Was very attentive. Also the two gentlemen Santiago and Mark helped me with my requests in the afternoon. It was a great day experience. I’d definitely return. Overall 5/5

I generally wouldn't come back on here to edit my review (I'm adding this rebuttal) like I am now but I just read some of these recent reviews and I'm in shock... I have been coming to this hotel for six months, usually in the exact same room, and my experience has been nothing short of amazing—especially for the price. Some of these negative reviews are just absurd. Housekeeping is outstanding. Whenever I need towels, sheets, or a full room cleaning, they personally deliver it to my door or schedule a cleaning at my convenience. The room is spotless every time. Not once have I seen a cockroach or anything remotely unhygienic. Construction complaints? The construction is an entirely separate building behind the hotel—it has nothing to do with this property. That’s progress, not a hotel issue. Pet waste? There’s a designated pet area outside, which is exactly where waste is supposed to be. Inside the hotel? Immaculate. Customer service is phenomenal. Mark (GM), Santiago, and Nikki are some of the most accommodating staff I’ve encountered. They truly care about guests. I can’t even begin to understand how anyone could call them rude. And this goes from management throughout every position here. Maintenance is fantastic and will bend over backwards for you, all you have to do is ask. And like I said before same goes for housekeeping. Safety concerns? That’s laughable. This hotel is as safe as it gets. It’s next to a secured government facility with armed guards. I often stay in the back corner of the property, and I have never—not even once—felt unsafe. Some people just seem impossible to please. If you're looking for a comfortable, well-managed, safe, and affordable stay, this is a fantastic choice.

I stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be a great home base for exploring the San Diego area. Location—it’s right in Mission Valley, so getting to the Zoo, SeaWorld, and downtown was a breeze (usually a 10-15 minute drive max). The staff was great checking in/out couldn't have been any easier. Will definitely be returning on my next trip.

Great place, most staff are nice and friendly. The timeshare sellers are the worst. Enjoyed stay overall, we did not have room with shower accessible area but rooms were big enough for wheelchair

Lindsey is a star! Stayed at fancy place in La Jolla, nice, but missed flight and Lindsey was like a beacon of light. Came to stay here because of her genuine kindness and hospitality. Also want to give a shout to Santiago, who helped me the following morning. Genuinely caring staff. And not sure when the reviewer commenting about the rooms being dirty stayed, but mine was immaculate. It is an older establishment- i don’t mind that, many of the fanciest, most charismatic, independent hotels in this country are older. That’s different than dirty. My room was very clean.

The location was great,,,,very central to everything. I liked the room size… it was larger than a lot of places I’ve stayed in San Diego. The desk clerks were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking close to my room. I have no complaints.

This used to be La Quinta, and from I understand, it will be converted (remodeled/fully upgraded) to a Marriott property (Luxury Collections), in the near future. It is outdated, but very clean and quiet. Coffee in the lobby is very good. Staff are very responsive and professional. Special thanks to Raymond, the night maintenance/security, who promptly brought us a TV remote, that was missing. Parking garage and lots are well lighted and clean. The Jacuzzi was well maintained and hot *Just be aware that there is no hotel breakfast since the dining area is closed, due to the upcoming upgrade. There is a self service laundry room. This is the perfect location for visitors planning to explore San Diego.
